The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued military operations on Saturday around the region of Albukamal, the last position of the so-called Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) in the Deir Ezzor province.

SAA operations around Albukamal were in full force to fully liberate the area from IS.

The Islamic State was recently able to recapture Albukamal after sending a large number of reinforcements from the northern countryside of the Deir Ezzor Governorate

The Syrian Army and their allies are now attempting to cutoff the terrorist group’s most important supply route to the city.
